Christmas competition for children and seniors

Support for the Rural Community Centers

All the Rural Community Centers were furnished with electronic equipment such as headphones and video cameras which will help to conduct some online activities with children staying home due to Covid lockdown.

Support for the General Corps of Volounteer Firefighters

In cooperation with the Darłowo Commune, we supported the General Corps of Volunteer Firefighters by purchasing and co-financing the equipment needed to carry out any rescue operations. We have been cooperating with local firefighters for years, organizing emergency drills on wind turbines, thanks to which our specialists from Wind Service can also feel safe.

We organized a competition for children from the Rural Community Centers in the Darłowo Municipality to create a kite. All the Centers took part in the competition and the winners were as follows:

Support for primary schools in Darłowo municipality

We also remember the primary schools located in Darłowo municipality (Kopnica, Jeżyczki, Dobiesław, Stary Jarosław, Słowino and Dąbki). They were furnished with tablets, headphones and books needed for home schooling during the Covid lockdown.

Partner Project launched together with the Association of Rural Women of the Darłowo Municipality

In May, we provided the Association with another professional sewing machine, which is at present also used to make face masks for the municipality residents.

1st prize in the “Easter Egg” Competition

The pandemic has not prevented "Żyj z energią" from acting. We held a virtual Easter competition for children from the Rural Community Centers in the Darłowo Municipality. We received pictures of the Easter eggs made, whose designs were, as always, inventive and imaginative, and took a lot of skill to make. Partner Project launched together with the Association of Rural Women of the Darłowo Municipality

We promptly responded to the local community’s needs and made a gift of a professional sewing machine to the Association of Rural Women of the Darłowo Municipality, now used by its exceptional members to make face masks and hand them out to their neighbors, healthcare facilities, and anyone in need.

3rd Santa Claus’s Reindeer Cup Checkers Tournament

Can reindeer play checkers? They can, but only in the Darłowo Municipality and only when assisted by Wind Service and „Żyj z energią”. On December 7, 2019, in the Rural Community Center in Jeżyczki, Darłowo Municipality, the 3rd Santa Claus’s Reindeer Cup Checkers Tournament was held. With our support, 98 competitors received commemorative medals, and the winners were awarded impressive cups. Reindeer antler headbands proved to bring a lot of joy and all competitors put them on before entering the first round of games. The Darłowo Municipality is a cradle of checkers champions. We are very glad that „Żyj z energią” can promote such initiatives as well.

Charity event for children from J. Korczak Children’s Home in Darłowo

It has already become a tradition for us to visit the Children’s Home on December 6, so this year too we came and brought Christmas gifts and prizes awarded in the eco-Christmas card design competition. We were invited to listen to a beautiful concert of Christmas carols and greeted with children’s joyous smiles.

2nd Science Festival

Just like last year, we held a Science Festival for grade school students from the Darłowo Municipality. This time, the event was hosted by the Social Grade School in Jeżyczki and Słowin. The motto of this two-day event in the Darłowo Municipality was “Be Eco-Friendly.” A couple of great performers from Fabryka Kreatywności (“Creativity Factory”) conducted eco shows, and Wind Service turbine maintenance technicians demonstrated the equipment they use to do their job, and explained how energy is generated with the use of wind. The students took an ecology test, were awarded prizes funded by „Żyj z energią”, and received a gift of clothing reflectors which will certainly prove useful to improve their safety when they walk along the road in fall and winter.

6th Seaside Fitness Run in Dąbki

„Żyj z energią” was an event partner in the 6th Seaside Fitness Run in Dąbki. We were represented by a „Żyj z energią” group of runners, composed of residents of the Darłowo Municipality who, as always, managed to stand on the podium. Wind Service’s representatives were also present.

Computers for Rural Community Centers in the Darłowo Municipality

„Żyj z energią” handed over 24 computer hardware sets to all the Community Centers managed by the Darłowo Municipality. The computers are intended to be used by local children and youth as part of the activities, events, and workshops held by the Community Centers. The gift received an extensive coverage in and was appreciated by the local media and online community portals, including Wieści Gminy Darłowo (“News from the Darłowo Municipality”) Facebook Page and the website of the Municipal Office in Darłowo. There was no end to the thanks, and we also received a beautiful piece of pokerwork made by one of the Community Centers and depicting a wind turbine

Global Wind Day

To celebrate the Global Wind Day which falls on June 15, we announced a wind chimes design competition for the Rural Community Centers of the Darłowo Municipality. The winners included: Nowy Jarosław Community Center – 1st prize, Porzecze Community Center – 2nd prize, and Boryszewo Community Center – 3rd prize. We also awarded several distinctions. In the course of the picnic held as part of the Days of the Darłowo Municipality, an awards ceremony took place, and an exhibition along with an auction were organized during which all of the entries made by children from the Rural Community Centers were auctioned off. During the festivities accompanying the Days of the Darłowo Municipality, our Initiative had its stand where children gathered in great numbers to take part in an art contest. Biofeedback Center at the Grade School in Dąbki

On May 31, 2019, a Biofeedback Center was opened at Maritime Rescue Guards Grade School in Dąbki, with financial support from „Żyj z energią”. Biofeedback is a new and effective therapy method that helps enhance brain function. The benefits of this therapy include improved memory and concentration, reinforced learning abilities, enhanced motivation and creativity, improved mood and self-esteem, increased stress tolerance and self-confidence, as well as improved sleep efficiency.

Plastic Bag Free Day – results of the eco-friendly bag design competition announced

On March 4 and 5, an awards ceremony took place as part of the “Say NO to Plastic Bags” competition in the Darłowo and Malechowo Municipalities. Wind Service and „Żyj z energią” organized science shows for all children from the Rural Community Centers, during which the audience could watch how water poured into a glass suddenly evaporates, a foaming volcano erupts, and a rose frozen in minus 200 Centigrade crumbles in your hands. Eco-Friendly Christmas Tree Decoration Competition

In December, „Żyj z energią” held an Eco-friendly Christmas Tree Decoration Competition open to the Rural Community Centers in the Darłowo Municipality. 111 children from 22 Community Centers entered the competition. The competitors’ creativity, the enormous amount of their work, and the demonstrated meticulous workmanship proved to be beyond our wildest dreams. We found it extremely difficult to decide who the prize-winners would be, as practically every presented decoration deserved a distinction. „Żyj z energią” received a gift of all the decorations made which, having travelled 500 km to our registered office in Gotarda Street, adorned the Christmas tree in our office.

1st prize in the art contest

„Żyj z energią” held an eco-art contest for children from J. Korczak Children’s Home in Darłowo. It turned out that we discovered genuine talents and all of the winners and competitors were awarded prizes. The main prize, to be shared by all children, was a professional table football table.

1st Science Festival

We launched the 1st Science Festival, during which grade school students from the Darłowo Municipality could watch a science show presented by the Copernicus Science Center from Warsaw, had an opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of a wind turbine technician’s work, and took an eco-quiz. They enjoyed a substantial dose of knowledge, play and awards!

We held a “Turn Waste into Wonder” competition for the Rural Community Centers from the Darłowo Municipality. „Żyj z energią” supports young international checkers players. Wearing professional shirts purchased by „Żyj z energią”, they represented the Darłowo Municipality at the Polish International Checkers Championship for children of up to eight years of age.

4th Seaside Fitness Run in Dąbki

Promoting and supporting an active lifestyle, our Initiative was an event partner in the Seaside Fitness Run in Dąbki. A group of „Żyj z energią” runners, who were our representatives, bravely covered the distance of 10 km.

“Energy Transforms the World” – a competition open to junior high schools

During the Week with Renewable Energy Sources, we held a competition entitled “Energy Transforms the World” at S. Żeromski School Complex in Darłowo. The competition was open to junior high schools from the Darłowo Municipality. The students of Maritime Rescue Guards Junior High School No. 3 in Dąbki, who won the 1st prize, were second to none.

We held a series of meetings with members of the local community of the Darłowo and Malechowo Municipalities, during which they could learn about wind park operations, and their children had an opportunity to visit an interesting science exhibition and broaden their knowledge of renewable energy sources.

“Captured Mind” science exhibition

Students from the Darłowo Municipality schools had a chance to visit an extraordinary exhibition – “Captured Mind,” developed by the Copernicus Science Center from Warsaw. The exhibition was staged at the School Complex in Stary Jarosław. With the use of 15 interactive exhibits, the young people could discover astonishing abilities of their minds.

Municipal Harvest Festival in Darłowo

We supported the Municipal Harvest Festival in Darłowo, along with the harvest wreath competition final. Numerous references to the wind energy industry were made during the event.
